Scott Dutton receives national certification

Scott Dutton of Dutton Design/Build has been approved by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) as a Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR).

Dutton received the CKBR title after successfully completing an intensive NARI study program that ended with a full day examination. The NARI CKBR program is designed to raise the bar in the remodeling industry and specifically in the complex realm of kitchen and bath design and remodeling.

“Remodelers have traditionally been given a bad wrap because of unqualified and unprofessional people,” Dutton said. “A national standardized training and examination process sets a benchmark. The CKBR course is an excellent way to separate the pros from those who hurt our industry’s reputation.”

The NARI CKBR program lasts for 15 weeks, consisting of a intensive study program covering all aspects of the Kitchen and Bath design, renovation, and construction. The participants are tested on their knowledge of all associated trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, framing, tile, etc), all areas of proper design/layout, project management, and product selection. The grueling course work ends with an eight-hour cumulative final examination.

Nationally there are only a handful Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodelers and in Solano County, only two remodelers have been certified.

Dutton Design Build adopts new corporate identity

As Dutton Family Construction has grown, so has its need for a strong corporate identity. Scott Dutton realized that as the design/build aspect of their firm developed, the company name needed to reflect that emphasis.

With the name change to Dutton Design Build came a new logo and associated materials. Look for new yard signs, vehicles and an enhanced web site.
